Back in late December 2025, we reported that motorcycle icon settings had been added to the Android version of the Google Maps app.
With the new year behind us and a few months having passed, motorcycle icon settings have now finally arrived on the iOS version of the Google Maps app between late March and early April 2026. It’s been a long-awaited update.

The motorcycle icon setting in both Android and iOS versions of Google Maps allows you to display a motorcycle icon while using navigation. While the default is the standard arrow icon, you can now select from five different types—Vintage, Naked, Cub, Scooter, or Racer—and customize your preference with one of eight available colors.
However, it is worth noting that in Japan, the availability of dedicated motorcycle routing is still limited or unavailable, so the actual range where you can utilize these icons might be somewhat restricted.
