Nothing Headphone (a) Limited Edition Yellow Launches Globally

Key Points of This Article
  • Nothing has released the limited “Yellow” color of its new wireless headphones, “Headphone (a),” in international markets.
  • In Japan, the release date is still “to be determined.”
  • It is expected to launch on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, likely alongside the Japanese versions of the “Phone (4a)” and “Phone (4a) Pro.”

On Monday, April 6, 2026, the British tech venture company “Nothing Technologies (Nothing)” released the limited “Yellow” color variant of their new wireless headphones, “Headphone (a),” which was originally announced on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

The “Headphone (a)” comes in four colors: Black, White, Pink, and Yellow. While the Black, White, and Pink versions were released on Friday, March 13, 2026, the Yellow version was designated as a limited color for an April 6, 2026 release. That limited “Yellow” edition is now finally available.

Although the limited “Yellow” color of the “Headphone (a)” is scheduled for release in Japan, it is currently marked as “coming soon,” and pre-orders have not yet begun. It is anticipated that it will be released on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, coinciding with the launch of the Japanese models of the “Phone (4a)” and “Phone (4a) Pro.”

“Headphone (a)”

The “Headphone (a)” is a budget-friendly model following the “Headphone (1)” announced in July 2025, designed to combine fashion with an immersive musical experience.

With a lightweight design of 310g and breathable memory foam cushions, the “Headphone (a)” is comfortable for all-day wear, just like the “Headphone (1).” It also features IP52-rated dust and water resistance, ensuring peace of mind during workouts or in adverse weather conditions.

Regarding controls, it avoids the typical frustrations of common touch interfaces by adopting intuitive tactile controls—mechanical buttons, a roller, and a paddle—that were well-received on the “Headphone (1).” It also introduces the “Channel Hop” function for instantly switching between your favorite apps or features, and a “Camera Shutter Mode” that functions as a hands-free remote for photo/video shooting on paired smartphones.

In terms of audio, it is equipped with lightweight, rigid 40mm titanium-coated drivers. It supports Wireless Hi-Res Audio and the LDAC codec to faithfully reproduce high-resolution sound in every detail.

The noise-canceling feature includes “Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC),” which is AI-adjusted in real-time based on the surrounding environment and fit, with low, medium, and high presets alongside a transparency mode. For calls, it utilizes an advanced AI algorithm trained on over 28 million noise scenarios and three microphones to deliver your voice clearly even in crowded environments. Additionally, using the companion app “Nothing X,” you can create custom sound profiles via an 8-band equalizer and share them with the community.

The biggest highlight of the “Headphone (a)” is its battery performance, boasting an incredible 135 hours of continuous playback with ANC turned off. It also supports fast charging, providing 8 hours of playback with just a 5-minute charge, offering overwhelming stamina.

Color variations include Black, White, Pink, and Yellow, with Yellow serving as the limited color.
