Key Points of This Article
  • Between late March and early April 2026, “Google Photos” was added to the “Extensions” feature of “Gemini” for users in the Japanese language setting.

  • This marks the long-awaited arrival of “Google Photos” integration for Gemini in Japanese after a one-year wait.

On Thursday, March 13, 2025, Google announced the expansion of its “Extensions” service for the Google AI “Gemini,” which included the addition of “Google Calendar,” “Google Keep,” “Google Tasks,” and “Google Photos.”

While “Google Calendar,” “Google Keep,” and “Google Tasks” were subsequently added to the “Extensions” feature for the Japanese language setting, “Google Photos” was initially only available in English-language environments. However, between late March and early April 2026, “Google Photos” was finally added to the “Extensions” for Gemini in the Japanese environment.

By enabling the “Google Photos” link in Gemini’s “Extensions,” you can now ask questions about the photos and videos stored in your account, such as “Show me the highlights from my trip last summer,” and receive relevant answers.

This release finally brings “Google Photos” to Gemini’s “Extensions” for Japanese users after a one-year wait. Currently, this integration has been confirmed on both the web and Android versions of the Gemini app.
