On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, Google announced an expansion of the lineup for its “Certified Refurbished Google Pixel” devices—officially inspected and certified pre-owned phones that have been sold on the U.S. “Google Store” since October 28, 2024.
Initially, the U.S. Google Store launched with five models in the Certified Refurbished program: the Pixel 6a, 6, 6 Pro, 7, and 7 Pro. However, sales of the Pixel 6a were immediately halted following potential battery overheating issues. After subsequent adjustments to the lineup, which most recently included the Pixel 7a, 7, 7 Pro, 8, and 8 Pro, the addition of the “Pixel 8a” now brings the total to six models.
Google Pixel devices sold through this program are packaged in redesigned, 100% plastic-free packaging and feature the new “Relove” icon. The Pixel 8a is currently being offered at a $160 discount.

Furthermore, “Certified Refurbished Google Pixel” devices are now also available through “Amazon Renewed,” where Amazon-certified sellers inspect, clean, repair, and test devices to ensure they function like new. Note that this announcement currently applies only to the United States.
In Japan, a wide variety of Google Pixel devices have long been available via Amazon.co.jp under the “Amazon Renewed” program.
