The service had launched in the US on Monday, December 16, 2024, about one year and four months ago.

Following its US launch, “Whisk” was expanded to over 100 countries, including Japan, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. However, it is now being discontinued. That said, it is not simply being shut down; it will be migrated (integrated) into the AI video production tool “Flow.”

Google plans to release an option to migrate images generated in “Whisk” to “Flow” in the near future.
