With “Get to a first draft instantly,” Gemini can now reference user data from sources like Gmail and Google Calendar based on prompts entered in the “Gemini side panel” or the new bottom bar to instantly generate customized drafts. For example, if you prompt it to “create a newsletter based on the meeting notes from January and the upcoming event list,” Gemini will reference the relevant files and generate a newsletter according to your instructions.

“Polish and perfect”

“Polish and perfect” is a feature that allows you to instruct Gemini to revise sections of text, enhance messages, or expand upon ideas.

By giving Gemini instructions like “edit this text to be more professional and have an energetic tone,” you can refine your entire document or specific highlighted portions into polished, high-quality prose.

“Match voice and format effortlessly”

“Match voice and format effortlessly” enables you to align your writing style and document formatting based on reference files, providing two distinct capabilities: “Match writing style” and “Match doc format.”

“Match writing style” allows you to unify the overall style of your text to ensure it sounds like you, while “Match doc format” allows you to apply the formatting of a referenced document to your current draft.

For example, if you find a great travel plan template, you can use user data—such as “Google Flights,” “Google Hotels,” and car rental reservation history from “Gmail”—to instantly fill that template with all the specific details of your trip.
