On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the British venture company “Nothing Technologies (Nothing)” officially announced the “Phone (4a) Pro,” the latest and highest-spec model in its popular Android “a” series.
The “Phone (4a) Pro” is a high-performance device powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and runs on “Nothing OS 4.1,” an original custom OS based on Android 16. It is available in three configurations: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, although the middle 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model is exclusive to the Indian market.
It comes in three colors: Black, Silver, and Pink. In the EU, the retail price is €479 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model and €549 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model.
Pre-orders for the “Phone (4a) Pro” will begin overseas on Friday, March 13, 2026, with an official release on Friday, March 27, 2026. A Japanese release has also been announced, marking the first time an “a Pro” model will be available in Japan. As always, details for the Japanese market will be announced at a later date.
The reason Japanese versions of Nothing devices are typically announced later than their international counterparts is due to the localized integration of FeliCa technology.
“Phone (4a) Pro”

The “Phone (4a) Pro” serves as the premium model to the “Phone (4a),” the third-generation device in Nothing’s popular “a” series.
Inheriting Nothing’s signature see-through design, the device features a precision-engineered aluminum unibody, achieving a thickness of just 7.9mm—the thinnest level for a Nothing smartphone. The rear is equipped with the “Glyph Matrix,” composed of 137 individual mini-LEDs.
While the “Glyph Matrix” was first introduced on the “Phone (3),” the “Phone (4a) Pro” expands the coverage area by 57% and doubles the brightness to approximately 3,000 nits. It also supports real-time information display via the Always-On Display.
The device is powered by “Nothing OS 4.1,” based on Android 16. This OS includes several new AI features: “Voice-to-Text,” which instantly converts speech into natural, editable text for emails and articles; “Essential Key,” an AI function button introduced on the “Phone (3a)”; “Essential Space,” an AI library that automatically organizes notes and ideas; and “Essential Search” and “Playground,” which allow for cross-app searching and the creation of custom mini-apps for the home screen without needing code.
Furthermore, “Essential Space” now supports long-awaited cloud access, allowing for cross-platform synchronization. The “Phone (4a) Pro” is guaranteed three years of major OS updates and six years of security updates.

Key specifications for the “Phone (4a) Pro” include a 6.83-inch (2,800 × 1,260) 1.5K AMOLED display with an adaptive 144Hz refresh rate, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, paired with 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. It houses a 5,080mAh battery supporting 50W fast charging. It also incorporates a large 5,300mm² vapor chamber for cooling and is IP65 water and dust resistant—a first for the “a” series.
The rear triple-camera system consists of a 50MP Sony main sensor with OIS, a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens with OIS supporting up to 140x ultra-zoom, and a Sony ultra-wide camera with a 120° field of view. The front features a 32MP wide-angle selfie camera. The device also supports 4K Ultra XDR video recording and utilizes the “TrueLens Engine 4,” which includes features like direct posting of Ultra XDR photos to Instagram and an “AI Eraser” for removing unwanted subjects.
The “Phone (4a) Pro” is available in three configurations (8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB) and three colors: Black, Silver, and Pink.

Compared to the “Phone (4a),” the “Phone (4a) Pro” features an upgraded processor (Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 to Snapdragon 7 Gen 4) and improved RAM (LPDDR4x to LPDDR5x). The display has also been upgraded from 6.78 inches (120Hz) to a larger 6.83 inches (144Hz).
Additionally, the 3.5x OIS periscope telephoto camera supports up to 140x ultra-zoom, and the device now includes a 5,300mm² large vapor chamber for thermal management. The “Phone (4a) Pro” also supports eSIM.
