Now, it has been discovered that yet another new backup setting is being prepared for rollout.
This new backup setting for the Android “Google Photos” app is called “Backup schedule.” Specifically, it appears that users will be able to schedule backups to occur at [Daily] or [Weekly] intervals.
This was identified through the addition of descriptions regarding “Backup schedule” within the in-app code of the Google Photos for Android v7.58 update, which was released on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
