On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Google announced the expansion of supported languages for “AI Avatars,” a feature for its AI-powered video creation assistant “Google Vids” within Google Workspace, which originally began rolling out on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

The “AI Avatar” feature in Google Vids allows users to have a script narrated by a selected AI avatar from 12 available presets. This enables the creation of consistent video content, such as employee training materials or customer-facing presentations. Initially, however, the feature was only available in English-language environments.

With this latest update, “AI Avatars” in Google Vids now support seven additional languages: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Korean, and Japanese. This means users can now utilize Japanese-speaking AI avatars.

However, usage is limited to a maximum of 20 times per week, and the maximum length for a single video clip is 30 seconds.

In addition to Google Workspace business accounts, “AI Avatars” in Google Vids are available to members of the Google AI plans (“Google AI Pro” and “Google AI Ultra”) via the Google One storage service. This feature is not available to standard Google users.
