On Friday, February 13, 2026, Sharp reported a bug occurring on its Android devices where emergency calls cannot be placed.
The issue involves the inability to make emergency calls when using an overseas SIM card. The affected SIMs are from two US carriers: T-Mobile and Verizon. This failure to connect emergency calls occurs when using a T-Mobile or Verizon SIM, regardless of whether it is a physical SIM or an eSIM.
The Android devices affected by the emergency call failure when using T-Mobile or Verizon SIMs are listed in the table below. However, the cause of the bug appears to have been identified, and it can be resolved by updating “Emopa”—the dedicated AI app for Sharp Android devices—to the latest version, v13.2.17 or later.
