Subsequently, it began rolling out to the Android version in early March 2025.
“Undo device backup” in Google Photos is a feature that lets you delete photos and videos stored on your device and backed up to the cloud from the Google Photos backup only. It is located at the very bottom of the [Backup] section in Google Photos settings. Or rather, it *was* located there.
In the iOS version of the Google Photos app, the “Undo device backup” option has disappeared at some point. It is currently unknown whether this is a temporary glitch or an official change in specifications. It is quite a mystery.
In any case, “Undo device backup” is currently unavailable in the iOS version of the Google Photos app.
