On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Google announced a major update for “Gemini in Chrome,” its AI-integrated browser service for Windows, macOS, and Chromebook Plus.
This major update for “Gemini in Chrome” introduces “Gemini 3,” Google’s most intelligent AI model. Additionally, Google teased the upcoming introduction of “Personal Intelligence,” a personal AI assistant designed to provide users with more personalized information.
“Personal Intelligence” is currently being rolled out in the U.S. for the Gemini app and the “AI Mode” search service, and it is scheduled to arrive in “Gemini in Chrome” within the coming months. Within “Gemini in Chrome,” users will also be able to configure whether to integrate “Personal Intelligence” with specific Google services, such as Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Google Search.
However, “Gemini in Chrome” for Windows, macOS, and Chromebook Plus is currently only available in the United States.
