On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Google announced a major expansion of “Google AI Plus,” a plan within the Google AI tier of its Google One online storage service. This plan was originally introduced specifically for emerging, developing, and resource-rich nations.
“Google AI Plus” is now expanding to all countries where “Google AI Pro” and “Google AI Ultra” are currently offered. This means that “Google AI Plus” has finally launched in Japan.
The monthly fee for “Google AI Plus” in Japan is 1,200 JPY (tax included). Given that “Google AI Pro” costs 2,900 JPY per month, “Google AI Plus” is available at less than half the price. Furthermore, a 50% discount applies for the first two months, allowing users to start for just 600 JPY per month.
“Google AI Plus” first launched in Indonesia in early September 2025, followed by an expansion to 40 more countries on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, bringing the total to 41 countries. In October 2025, it expanded to an additional 36 countries for a total of 77. Subsequently, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, it reached 53 more countries, bringing the total availability to 130 countries.
And now, the service has been expanded all at once to every country where “Google AI Pro” and “Google AI Ultra” are available.
