- The settings menu in the Google Maps app for Android and iOS was revamped in early January 2026.
- The previously long, vertical settings menu has been organized into categories, with dedicated pages for each.
- This update makes the previously cluttered settings menu much cleaner and easier to navigate.
In early January 2026, the settings menu was revamped for the Android and iOS versions of Google’s mapping service, “Google Maps.”
In the updated Google Maps app for Android and iOS, the settings menu—which used to be one long vertical list—has been divided into categories, with dedicated pages for each. Simply put, the settings menu, which was previously difficult to navigate, has become sleeker and more user-friendly.

While the settings menu in the Android and iOS Google Maps apps has been redesigned to be more streamlined and visible, there are no specific changes to the settings themselves. They remain the same as before.
Additionally, in the Android version of the Google Maps app, the revamped settings menu now includes an option to sign out of your Google account.
