On Thursday, December 18, 2025, Google announced the introduction of AI avatars upgraded with the state-of-the-art video generation AI model “Veo 3.1” to its groupware video editing service, “Google Vids.”
With the introduction of AI avatars powered by “Veo 3.1,” Google Vids now allows users to generate videos featuring avatars that offer more realistic, natural, and high-quality expressions. These can be utilized in various scenarios, such as providing narration for educational and training videos.
In addition, Google Vids already offers “Veo in Vids,” a Veo 3.1 integration feature that generates 8-second video clips based on prompts and up to three uploaded images.
However, advanced AI features in Google Vids, such as the “Veo in Vids” integration and Veo 3.1-upgraded AI avatars, are premium features. These are available specifically for Google Workspace accounts and for subscribers of the “Google AI Pro” or “Google AI Ultra” plans within the Google One storage service.
