On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, Google introduced “Opal,” a no-code AI-powered mini-app creation tool, to the web version of its Google AI “Gemini” app.
“Opal” is being experimentally introduced in the web version of the “Gemini” app through the custom AI expert feature, “Gems.” You can create your own “Gems” based on pre-made ones or build them from scratch.
However, “Opal” in the web version of the “Gemini” app is not yet localized for Japanese and is currently only available in English.

“Opal” is a no-code tool that allows you to create mini-apps by conversing with an AI, without needing to code. Its signature visual editor introduces a new view that transforms prompts into a list of steps, making it easier to understand and edit the mini-app’s behavior.
Advanced customization options are also available by switching to the “Opal” site (opal.google).
