On Monday, December 8, 2025, Google announced new features for “Mixboard,” its new AI-powered concept board tool that launched in Japan on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
The new features rolling out for “Mixboard” include beautiful, high-fidelity customization through integration with the “Nano Banana Pro” AI image generation model, expanded support for files like PDFs, and the ability to create multiple boards per project. The high-fidelity customization using “Nano Banana Pro” allows users to transform their boards into their preferred styles.
With the expanded file support, you can now directly upload photos from your device’s camera and upload PDF files. Additionally, you can now edit images with AI by directly marking up an image on the board and entering a prompt.
The ability to create multiple boards per project allows you to create several different boards based on categories or themes within a single project. Furthermore, the canvas size of “Mixboard” itself has been expanded, allowing you to handle more ideas.
Incidentally, while “Mixboard” is available in Japan, the display language is still English. It has not yet been localized for Japan.
