On Monday, November 17, 2025, Google announced that its AI search feature, “AI Mode,” now supports travel plan generation within its collaboration tool, Canvas.
With Canvas in “AI Mode” now supporting travel plan generation, it has become possible to create travel plans tailored to user needs. When you enter the type of trip you are planning and your preferences into “AI Mode,” such as, “Help me plan a weekend hot spring day trip with three friends,” a “Create in Canvas” button will appear. Clicking this button will display a travel plan based on real-time flight and hotel search data, Google Maps information, and more.
Furthermore, it can also suggest ideas for your travel budget, hotels, restaurants, and activities. This generated travel plan can be re-accessed at any time from your “AI Mode” history.
Travel plan generation in Canvas via “AI Mode” is available on desktop in the U.S. for users who have opted into Search Labs.
