On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Google announced four new AI-powered features to be introduced to its shopping-related content, “Google Shopping.”
The four features announced are: “AI Shopping Update” in AI Mode, a shopping feature in Gemini, product stock checking with Google Duplex, and “Agentic Checkout.” These new features will be rolled out primarily in the United States.
“AI Shopping Update”

A convenient “AI Shopping Update” will be introduced to the AI search feature “AI Mode.” When you ask shopping-related questions, it will organize and display necessary product information such as price, reviews, and stock information, along with rich visuals.
For example, for visually-focused questions about products like “a warm, autumn-colored sweater,” the results will be primarily image-based. For questions focused on product specifications, such as “a moisturizer for my skin type,” the results will feature product-specific considerations and options for further filtering.
Gemini Shopping Feature

A shopping feature will be introduced to Google AI “Gemini.” When you ask product-related questions, it will not only provide answers to help you choose the best product but also allow you to shop online directly from those answers.
Previously, “Gemini” only provided text-based answers. With the introduction of the shopping feature, Gemini’s responses will now include product information like photos and URL links, allowing you to check the best product information and complete your online shopping. This Gemini shopping feature will first be introduced in the United States.
Google Duplex for Product Stock Checks

Google AI Gemini’s AI agent feature, “Google Duplex (automated voice calls),” will now support checking product inventory, sales prices, and information on ongoing sales.
The Gemini AI agent feature, Google Duplex, is a convenient function where Gemini makes phone calls on your behalf to make restaurant reservations or confirm store services from Google Search or Google Maps. Now, when you search for a product at a nearby store in Google Search, you can tap “Get started” from the “Let Google call” option and select the necessary questions. Gemini will then call the store to check product inventory and other details.
This Google Duplex product stock check feature will be available in the United States for searches in product categories such as toys, health & beauty, and home appliances.

“Agentic Checkout”

The new feature “Agentic Checkout” will be rolled out to Google Search, including “AI Mode.”
The new “Agentic Checkout” feature is an evolution of the “Price Tracking” feature in Google Search. When a product you’ve set up in Price Tracking drops to a price within your budget, this feature semi-automates the purchase at the best time using the Google payment service, “Google Pay.” It notifies you when the price drops into your budget and then completes the purchase after getting your approval.
“Agentic Checkout” will be supported by eligible U.S. retailers such as the U.S. furniture e-commerce site “Wayfair,” the U.S. pet supply e-commerce site “Chewy,” the U.S. D2C fashion brand “Quince,” as well as some merchants on the e-commerce platform “Shopify.”
