With the v196 (v196.0.818313470-publicbeta-pixel2025) update for “Phone by Google,” the default phone app for Google Pixel devices, which was released around Thursday, October 16, 2025, the “Call Notes” feature appears to have finally expanded its rollout.
“Call Notes” in the “Phone by Google” app is an AI feature powered by Google’s “Gemini Nano” AI model that transcribes call content and even provides an AI-generated summary. It was previously only available in the US for Google Pixel devices from the “Pixel 9” series onwards (excluding the “Pixel 9a”), but it was announced that a beta version would be rolled out to beta testers in Australia, Canada, India, and Ireland during 2025.
Regarding the “Call Notes” feature in the “Phone by Google” app, I have confirmed its rollout on my “Pixel 10 Pro XL,” which I use with a dual SIM setup (Rakuten Mobile and Y!mobile). Of course, I am enrolled as a “Beta tester” for the “Phone by Google” app.
On the other hand, while I also have the “Pixel 9,” “Pixel 9 Pro Fold,” “Pixel 10,” and “Pixel 10 Pro Fold,” I have not yet been able to confirm the “Call Notes” rollout on those devices. It is likely that the beta rollout has only just begun for a very small number of users.
Nevertheless, this rollout is happening in the Japanese language/region, which has not been officially announced.
