On Friday, October 3, 2025, Google announced an expanded rollout for “Gemini in Chrome,” its Google AI “Gemini” integration feature for the Chrome browser, to Google Workspace accounts. The feature began rolling out in the US in mid-September 2025.
Initially launched for English users in the US, “Gemini in Chrome” is now expanding to Google Workspace for Business and Education accounts. Moreover, its availability in the UK was also announced today.
Users in the UK with Google Workspace for Business or Education accounts can now also use “Gemini in Chrome.”
Incidentally, “Gemini in Chrome” is currently available on Chrome for Windows, Mac, and iOS. It has not yet been rolled out to the Chrome app for Android.
“Gemini in Chrome”
“Gemini in Chrome” is a Google AI-integrated browser service that will be available not only on Windows and Mac but also on Android and iOS.
It can be launched from the “Gemini” icon in the toolbar. For example, it can summarize the web page you’re viewing, summarize information across multiple tabs when you’re planning a trip, find reference information in a YouTube video, or help you resume browsing by searching your history.
“Gemini in Chrome” also integrates with Google services like Google Docs and Google Calendar, allowing you to export summaries to a Google Doc or add schedules related to answers to your Google Calendar.
Furthermore, the Windows and Mac versions of “Gemini in Chrome” also integrate “Gemini Live,” an intuitive conversational service. This allows you to have a conversation with Gemini while browsing.
Additionally, an advanced “agent feature” is in development, which will allow the AI to perform multi-step tasks on your behalf, such as ordering products, booking salon appointments, or making restaurant reservations. It is scheduled to be added to “Gemini in Chrome” in the coming months.
