On Thursday, February 5, 2026, SwitchBot, the No. 1 brand in IoT devices, announced that its AI-powered hub product, “SwitchBot AI Hub,” will soon support the open-source self-hosted AI agent “OpenClaw.”
“OpenClaw” is an open-source self-hosted AI agent currently gaining significant attention as a “proactive AI assistant” capable of web research, PC operations, and autonomous execution via external service integration. It is publicly available on the programming platform GitHub.
By bringing “OpenClaw” support to the “SwitchBot AI Hub,” the system aims to provide smart home suggestions that anticipate user needs—such as asking “Ready for some coffee?”—instead of just reacting to instructions. However, as it is currently labeled as “Coming Soon,” the specific release date remains unknown.
Note that using “OpenClaw” requires a PC or a VPS (Virtual Private Server), and involves essential technical steps such as executing installation commands via a terminal, making it a tool that is not intended for beginners.
