当初は Google Pixel デバイス「Pixel 7」シリーズ向けに展開され、その後「Pixel 6」以降の Google Pixel デバイスにも展開拡大された、視覚障がいユーザー向けのデフォルトカメラアプリ「Pixel カメラ」の自撮り撮影補助機能「ガイド付き自撮り」。
その「ガイド付き自撮り」ですが、新世代 Google Pixel デバイス「Pixel 10」シリーズではいつの間にか「ガイド付き撮影」に改名されました。ただ、単に「ガイド付き自撮り」から「ガイド付き撮影」に改名されただけではなく、フロントカメラを使用した「ガイド付き自撮り」のほか、リアカメラを使用した人物の撮影にも対応したための改名です。
そして改名された「ガイド付き撮影」では、Google AI「Gemini」が統合され、「Gemini」によるガイダンスのもと、リアカメラを使用した人物の撮影を行うことができるようになりました。つまり「ガイド付き撮影」は、「Gemini」が統合されることによって、「ガイド付き自撮り」も内包された自撮り / 人物撮影機能へと進化したわけです。
そしてその「ガイド付き撮影」への改名に合わせて、新たにチュートリアルも追加されています。「ガイド付き撮影」チュートリアルでは、「ガイド付き撮影」中の「Gemini」ガイダンス呼び出し方法や「ガイド付き自撮り」撮影方法を具体的に学ぶことができます。
ちなみにこの新世代 Google Pixel デバイス「Pixel 10」シリーズにおける「Pixel カメラ」の「ガイド付き撮影」ならびに「ガイド付き撮影」チュートリアルは、「Pixel カメラ」アプリに対して 2025 年 9 月 23 日（火）に配信されたアプリバージョン v10.0.081.808198566.40 アップデート以降で正式展開されています。ただ、Google からの公式発表が行われていない点は謎です。
