Google は 2025 年 8 月 21 日（木）、新製品発表イベント「Mad by Google 2025」において、新世代 Google Pixel スマートウォッチ「Google Pixel Watch 4」を正式発表しました。
そしてそれに合わせて公式ヘルプサイト「Google ヘルプ」の「Google Pixel Watch にソフトウェア アップデートが提供されるタイミング（Learn when you’ll get software updates on Google Pixel Watch）」を更新し、「Google Pixel Watch 4」のソフトウェアアップデート提供期限を公開しました。「Google Pixel Watch 4」、ほかの「Google Pixel Watch」シリーズと同じく、米国発売から起算して 3 年間のソフトウェアアップデートが配信されます。
「Google Pixel Watch 4」は米国でも 2025 年 10 月に発売されるため、つまりは 2028 年 10 月まで、セキュリティアップデートを含むソフトウェア アップデートが配信されます。
「Pixel 8」以降の Google Pixel デバイスでは、OS メジャーアップデートとセキュリティアップデートを含むソフトウェアアップデートが発売後 7 年間配信されることから、もしかしたら「Google Pixel Watch 4」でも多少延長されることを期待したのですが、特に変更はありませんでした。
